Polyamide

Polyamide, also known as nylon, is a synthetic fiber made from crude oil. It is a very durable material that, due to its resilience and elasticity, is widely used in the fashion and textile industries. It is the material that we use the most and which you can find in our best-selling products such as Define Tights.

The production of polyamide is unfortunately not without problems for the environment. Partly because the fiber is made from crude oil, a non-renewable raw material, but also because producing polyamide fiber uses a lot of energy. That is why we aim to use only recycled polyamide by 2030.

Preferred polyamide

Recycled polyamide is transformed from other discarded polyamide-based products such as fishing nets, carpets or textile waste. The production of recycled polyamide material reduces carbon dioxide emissions by up to 50% compared to virgin polyamide that is not recycled. That's why the shift to recycled polyamide is a big part of our sustainability strategy to ensure we reduce our emissions quickly. All materials containing recycled polyamide used in our garments are certified according to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
